freetox

// our story

We document online hate. The internet forgets too fast.

Toxic posts get deleted, accounts get renamed, and the people who were targeted are left with nothing to point to. freetox keeps a verified, moderated record — so accountability does not depend on luck.

// where it started

We built this to solve a problem we kept running into.

Again and again we saw the same thing: a public figure posts something hateful, it spreads, it gets deleted — and a month later nobody can prove it happened.

Victims collected screenshots in folders. Journalists rebuilt timelines from scratch. Employers had no way to tell a pattern from a single misunderstanding.

So we built the thing we wished existed: one place where each case keeps its link, its evidence and its context — reviewed by people and open to correction.

// the structural problem

Four ways people try today. None of them build a record.

Each option solves a piece of the problem. None of them keeps verified evidence in one place that anyone can check later.

Platform reports

A report goes into a queue. If content is removed, the evidence is removed with it — and so is the pattern.

invisible

Group chats

Screenshots circulate without links or context and are impossible to verify a week later.

gets lost

News coverage

One viral incident gets an article. The ten quieter ones before it never do.

one-off

Public call-outs

Fast and emotional. Without moderation, mistakes hit the wrong person and stay forever.

unverified

freetox is the record that did not exist. Moderated cases, preserved evidence, public profiles for people and companies, and a real appeal process.

// how we do it

How we keep it accurate and fair.

A public record is only valuable if it is right. These are the rules every case passes through.

Evidence before opinion

A case needs a working link plus screenshots or a video timestamp. Descriptions never replace proof.

One checklist for everyone

Every moderator uses the same review checklist, so decisions do not depend on who is on shift.

Volunteers with a track record

Only volunteers with consistent, accurate reviews can publish without a second check.

Severity, not volume

The toxic rating weighs how serious cases are, so one heated comment never equals incitement.

Privacy by default

Private individuals are hidden from guests. Public figures and companies are visible to everyone.

Corrections are public too

Appeals are reviewed by a different moderator. Invalid cases are removed and ratings recalculated.

// what we believe

The principles behind the work.

01

Proof is the product

If we cannot show it, we do not publish it. Every claim on freetox links back to its source.

02

Fair over loud

We would rather publish one solid case than ten shaky ones. Accuracy protects everyone, including the accused.

03

Patterns, not moments

A single bad day is human. Repeated hate is a pattern — and patterns are what the record makes visible.

04

Never for sale

No paid removals, no sponsored listings. Donations fund the work, never the outcome.

// community voices

Why people trust the record.

What changes when toxic content is documented with evidence instead of being argued about in comments.

“Posts get deleted within hours. Having a moderated record with screenshots means the evidence does not disappear with them.”
NK Noa K. Journalist
“I like that nothing goes live without a link and proof. It makes the catalog something you can actually cite.”
DM Daniel M. Researcher
“I was listed by mistake after a fake screenshot. I filed an appeal and the case was removed within two days. Fair process.”
MS Miriam S. Filed an appeal
“As a volunteer I review a dozen cases a week. The checklist keeps us consistent and stops emotional decisions.”
DR David R. Volunteer moderator
“We check the catalog during hiring for public-facing roles. Seeing repeated cases, not one angry comment, is what matters.”
TB Tom B. HR manager
“Reporting is quick: paste the link, add screenshots, pick a reason. The rest is on the moderators.”

// no surprises

Questions, answered.

About the team, the process and how we protect the catalog from abuse.

01 Who runs freetox?

An independent team of moderators, volunteers and engineers. We are funded by donations and accept no money for removals or listings.

02 Why should I trust a case?

Because you can check it yourself: every case links to the original content and keeps screenshots in case it gets deleted.

03 Do you publish private people?

Private individuals are only visible to signed-in users and never appear to guests or search engines.

04 How do you prevent abuse of the catalog?

Every submission is moderated, accounts that file false reports lose access, and every listed person can appeal.

05 Can I volunteer?

Yes. Register, report accurate cases, and you can be invited to join the volunteer team.
